What’s going on?
The 6th graders went on a field trip to the Federal Way Performing Arts Center, on Wednesday, February 11th. Once they got there, they watched actors teaching the 6th graders history through rap and dance. Going to a play has become a tradition for the 6th graders, starting around 3 years ago, with two different 6th grade classes going to different types of plays. Some people even think that this event has been educational for the 6th graders.
Teachers’ Thoughts
Teachers thought that this outing for the 6th graders was quite beneficial for them. “I just think 6th graders have never been to an actual play before; this might get them interested in plays. People always talk about their first play, so this could be something special, ” Ms. Leah explained before the play.
What do the 6th graders think about it?
Certain 6th graders had good feelings about the play. Some thought there were some innovative parts of the play. “The guy who was able to play different types of drums was pretty cool,” claimed Ruben Lisitsyn, before adding on, “You don’t see it very much.” Others thought that they learned something new from it. “I learned how to say welcome in different languages,” said Aviana Villalba, “I thought it was kinda cool that the man had been to so many different places.”
