In the start of June, Mrs. Leah, Mrs. Nordstrom, and Mr. Scott will be taking the FWPA 10th graders and going to Camp Arnold for a well-deserved break. 10th grade camp is a tradition at FWPA to give the students a chance to spend time with their friends, make last memories, and most importantly say goodbye to their peers.
Excitement is high within the 10th graders, someone who shows this well is Micheal Gasonov, his excitement for the trip is a, “9/10 because it’s been a long time since our last camp experience, and I have a bunch more friends coming and activities to do.” This belief is shared amongst the 10th graders who have high hopes for their time at Camp Arnold.
Another 10th grader is Melayna who is bringing games for her friends to play. “I plan to bring a deck of Uno and some other playing cards. I hope to use them well and others bring stuff as well.” Although planned activities are fun at camp some of the most joy comes from what you bring.
These games won’t be the only things the 10th graders are doing, as team building and other social events are planned for the 10th graders. Two of these things are archery and survival classes. These classes have been well received by the 10th graders and excitement has been built for them.
Although this trip should be fun, lots of work comes from Mrs. Leah and the other teachers too pull it off. Mrs. Leah stepped into the management role because, as she stated, “These 10th graders were my first original group at FWPA, and it is like saying goodbye to them.” Mrs. Leah hopes for a respectful time with the 10th graders for her final goodbye. While Mr. Scott is there as the medical personal and stated, “I like going to camps with the different grades because it allows me to connect with who they really are outside of a school environment.”
