Books and movies are very different forms of entertainment, yet the two are always compared.
72% of students said they prefer movies over books. London Bell said, “It’s easier to visualize and helps me pay attention.” Most people who chose movies said around the same thing or along the line of, it’s easiest to follow the plot and it helps them relax more than reading would. “Also I don’t have to think about any of the details,” Ben Scott remarked.
On the other hand, 28% of students prefer books over movies. Emily Holladay said, “You can get more detail out of it.” Others said it allows their imagination to go free by allowing them to come up with how the characters would look and also how the places would look, too. Also they like how it gets their brain thinking, and some even say watching the movie first can almost ruin the book.
In conclusion, the survey about books vs. movies shows a preference for movies over books. The consistency in reasoning on both sides, ease and relaxation for movies, versus detail and imagination for books. This all shows the differences in how students enjoy having a story being told.
