Spirit Week at FWPA is a week for students to show their creativity with outfits, and to have a theme to match each day. For example, Monochromatic Monday is where students had to dress up as one color from head to toe. One day in particular, students could dress up for was Twin Day, where students got together in duos to have similar outfits, being “twins.”
During the Spirit Week before the first dance, multiple people dressed up in their own outfits, showing off their creative spirit. Each day was different from the last, from going to Twin Day after Monochromatic Day all the way to Formal Wear day right before the dance.
For some people it was easier to dress up for one day than others. Marcus Roman states, “Formal Day, it was the easiest to do surprisingly because I was preparing for the dance, so I just wore that outfit.” Some students were only able to dress up for one or two days, not having an outfit for the other days. Emmanuel Litushko states, “I only did outfits for Monochromatic day and Twin Day, I didn’t have anything else for the other days.”
Some students still dressed up with no good outfits to wear, showing off their participation in the theme of the day. Jose Fernandez stated, “I went as Laufey, and my friend Essey went as one of her fans for twin day, although I only was able to wear a partial bit of my Laufey outfit.” He showed off his own halfway participation in the day, with going as Laufey but not able to fully with only wearing partial of his outfit, to still try and dress up for the Spirit Day.
With students dressing up for Spirit Week, it shows that anyone can participate in the week, whether they have an outfit or not, and to also show off their creativity in putting together their outfits to have the most fun they can have.
