As the FWPA 2025 graduates prepare to move on to the next chapter of their lives, they each have different and unique aspirations and goals that will shape their futures. From aviation to beauty, construction to business, these students are paving their own paths to success.
Liza Adnan, who has been attending FWPA since her 6th grade year, has a deep passion for aviation. She plans to enroll in Running Start and take courses at Green River College aviation program. Additionally, she hopes to take classes at the Museum of Flight’s Aeronautical Science Pathway (ASP). Her ultimate goal is to become a pilot, learn about airplanes, airport management, and human factors in aviation. As she puts it, “After that I’m gonna go into a massive amount of debt tryna get all my licenses.”
Angela Korneychuk, who has also attended FWPA since her 6th grade year, plans on enrolling in Running Start at Highline as well, but she has a different plan in mind. Instead of going to a traditional college, she hopes to go to beauty school and pursue a career as a nail technician or something else in the arts. For her, creativity is key, and she feels that the traditional college route just isn’t the right fit for her goals.
But Angela isn’t the only student not planning on taking the traditional college route. After graduation, Justin Vasylevych plans to homeschool through Penn Foster while working full time with his uncle, who works in construction. His long-term goal is to become a construction manager. He has a clear stance on college, stating, “I am not gonna go to college—I don’t think it’s the right decision for me. I feel like there are better opportunities for me without college.” Additionally, he has an interest in coaching a sport and would love to be an assistant coach for wrestling or football in the future.
Some students have two plans in mind, such as Olivia Tay who has two possible routes after graduation: either enrolling in the Robinson program, which is a program where UW takes kids from FWPA after graduation depending on if they’re ready or not, or will be pursuing Running Start. If accepted into the Robinson program, she hopes to major in biology or chemistry, aiming for a career in the medical field. If she doesn’t get into the program, she plans to attend Highline College and later transfer to the University of Washington (UW). Though she is still deciding on a specific profession, Olivia is determined to contribute to the healthcare industry.
While most students will be pursuing the route of Running Start, Keanu Garcia plans to go to Decatur High School to finish his last years of high school. Once he is done with high school, he’s going to enlist in the U.S Air Force, allowing them to cover his college tuition. Though he has yet to choose a specific college, he is confident that his future will be bright with the support of the military.
As these students prepare to leave FWPA, they carry with them the knowledge and experience that have helped shape them throughout their time at school. Whether they’re painting pictures, helping construct a new building, or traveling in the air, each of them are setting forth on a unique and promising future.
