Spring Break is just around the corner and students are eagerly preparing for the day to finally arrive. From traveling overseas to staying indoors, FWPA students are ready to make the most out of their vacation. For 10th grader Essa Gaye, he is taking his first trip to Dubai. He will be spending five days there with his mom and sister exploring the city known for its skyscrapers. He looks forward to trying new foods and seeing the Burj Khalifa in person. “I’m pretty excited, it’s my first time,” Essa shared. While Essa is traveling to Dubai, another student, sixth grader Yonatan Mesfin, is spending his spring break in Germany to visit his aunt. “I’m going to Germany again and I’m going to visit my dad’s sister and have some fun,” Yonatan exclaimed. His family moved there from Ethiopia and he is excited to see them again. Not only is he visiting family, but he is also going to an amusement park. Yonatan enjoys the thrill that roller coasters bring, and he is eager to ride all of them, especially the one his dad described as extremely frightening. “I’m excited to go on one of the scariest roller coasters that my dad is always talking about,” Yonatan said with a big smile. For some, staying closer to home is just as exciting. Anton Hamuha, a seventh grader, is planning to spend his time outside fishing or swimming at the lake, no matter the temperature. “Coldness is only a mindset, if you believe that it’s not cold, then it’s not gonna be cold, you know,” Anton chuckled. Having fished all his life, he truly enjoys this experience with his family, especially with his grandpa and dad. Whether traveling across the globe or enjoying activities close to home, FWPA students are ready for the time away from school. The joy of sleeping in and spending time with family is just around the corner, so hold on a little while longer. |
