Satisfying Sweets
As the holiday season ends, students and staff at FWPA share their favorite holiday desserts. From Kaitlin O’Neill baking her favorite chocolate chip cookies to Mrs. Leah eagerly waiting for Mrs. Paris’s sweets box, these desserts make the holidays more special to them.
Kaitlin’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
As the holiday season approaches, Kaitlin O’Neill, a 6th grader at FWPA, plans to bake often with her mother during the holidays. Kaitlin explains how she loves to bake one of her favorite desserts: chocolate chip cookies.
Kaitlin bakes cookies a couple times a week and other sweets during the holiday. She has always enjoyed chocolate chip cookies as her favorite holiday food, because as she states, “They taste like Christmas time!”
Though Kaitlin enjoys baking, when it’s not the holidays, she doesn’t necessarily eat many sweets, so Thanksgiving and Christmas time is when she bakes the most.
“Thanksgiving is really the only time of the year for pumpkin pie, and cinnamon, just tastes like the holidays for me. During the holidays you’re kind of expected to bake, especially sweets,” she explains, sharing her love for holiday treats as well as her love for baking them.
Mrs. Leah dreams about Mrs. Paris’ sweets box:
Have you ever heard of Mrs. Paris’ sweets box? Well, when the holiday season comes up, Mrs. Paris and her family all have sweets recipes that go into a box that Mrs. Paris gives to her friends and family.
Mrs. Leah has been teaching here at FWPA for three years, and for her first year, during the holiday season she stated how she was so surprised and excited about the sweets box.
“I would say I do dream about Mrs. Paris’ sweeties box throughout the year,” Mrs. Leah states. “Whenever a few teachers and I receive them we all get so excited.”
During a Christmas party between Mrs. Leah and her friends, Mrs. Paris brings some of her sweets along, and Mrs. Leah explains that they are always her favorite desserts at the party.

These are just some of the holiday delicacies FWPA students and staff favor. The holiday season to some at FWPA included delicious desserts and baking sweet treats.
