Clubs at FWPA are a way for students to make friends, engage in community building activities, and participate in groups about subjects they are passionate for. In order to help students join clubs, this article will describe each club, but due to the extensive amount of clubs, this issue will only cover the clubs that occur on Tuesdays.
Band
Band is in room 302 and is advised by Mr. Anderson. It is led by Mr. Seigmand, who is the father of FWPA sixth grader Anna Seigmand. It takes place every Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:00 AM. In Band, students will be able to learn how to play a variety of instruments or further improve their skills in an instrument they already know how to play.
Scholar Advisory
Scholar Advisory is in room 302 and is advised by Mrs. Thornton. It takes place on the first Tuesday of each month. In Scholar Advisory, students will be able to have a meeting with Mrs. Thornton and discuss how certain parts of the school, like assemblies and extracurricular activities should be changed or improved.
Math Team
The Math Team meets in room 204 every Tuesday from 3:00 to 4:00 PM and is advised by Mrs. Kelly. In Math Team, students will study in preparation for math competitions. In these competitions, students will go up against other teams to solve difficult equations.
Homework Club
Homework Club is in room 103 and is advised by Mrs. Laatz. It takes place every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. In Homework Club, students will be able to receive aid and tutoring from members of the Honors Society in any subject that they struggle with.
Gardening Club
Gardening Club is in room 102 and is advised by Mr. Genzlinger. It takes place every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. In Gardening Club, students can help beautify the school and get community service hours by doing activities like getting rid of ant branches, twigs, or leaves found on the ground.
Knowledge Bowl
Knowledge Bowl is in room 100 and is advised by Mr. Klumpenhower. It takes place every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. In Knowledge Bowl, students will compete against other teams in answering questions related to all typical areas of education.
