Clubs at FWPA are a way for students to make friends, engage in community building activities, and participate in groups about subjects they are passionate for. Due to the impressive number of clubs at FWPA, each issue of The Tiger Times will spotlight just the clubs that meet on a specific day of the week.
Chess Club
Chess Club is in room 100 and is advised by Mr.Klumpenhower. It takes place every Monday from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. In the Chess club players who have a moderate understanding of how to play chess will be able to engage in friendly competition and learn tips, tricks, and strategies to hone their skills in chess.
ASU (Asian Student Union)
ASU is in room 203 and advised by Mr. Young. It takes place on the first Monday of each month from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Students in ASU will be able to learn about Asian culture and about the many groundbreaking contributions made by Asian people to American society.
Community Service Club
The Community Service Club is in room 302 and advised by Mrs. Camp. It takes place every Monday from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Students in the Community Service club will be able to gain community service hours by completing numerous community service projects throughout the school year.
LEGO Robotics Club
The LEGO Robotics Club is held in room 201 and advised by Mr. Scott. It takes place every Monday from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. In the LEGO club students will design, build, and program LEGO robots to complete complex missions fostering creativity, problem solving, and design skills.
Spanish/Latino Club
The Spanish Club is held in room 304 and advised by Mr. Genzlinger and Senior Sagastizado. It takes place every Monday and Wednesday from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. In the Spanish club students will learn about Spanish culture by listening to music, eating authentic Spanish foods, and dancing.
Book Club
The Book Club is held in room 203 and advised by Mr. Young. It takes place on the third Monday of each month from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Students in the book club will choose books to read and engage in discussions that cover the characters, themes, and important moments in those books. Students will also participate in discussions led by book authors giving them insight on the process of writing literature.
